Recently, Kelso-Burnett Co. completed various electrical installations to Marsh & McLennan’s, 120,000 square-foot tenant build-out consisting of three full floors at 540 W. Madison Street in Chicago, Illinois. Contracted by Clune Construction, Kelso-Burnett Co. installed a high-tech Douglas Lighting Control System controlling over 280 Occupancy Sensors.

The Marsh & McLennan project was completed within a 10-week schedule with peak electrical manpower at 38 electricians. Marsh & McLennan’s new Chicago office achieved a LEED Silver Certification from the USGBC.

Additionally, Kelso-Burnett Co. exceeded the requested 37% Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and/or Women Business Enterprises (WBE) participation requirement by meeting a 40% MBE/WBE project participation. Overall, the entire project took 17,500 man-hours to complete within a five-month schedule. The short project delivery schedule produced extreme challenges and commitments from all of the trades involved, but the project was delivered on schedule and under budget.
